Alison Van Hecke will take good care of you. She listens well and is great at matching you up with the right location, and options within your budget if you're in the market for buying a property and she is equally great at finding the right buyer if you're trying to sell your property. I highly recommend Alison.
Allison is excellent. She pays attention to the details and she works tirelessly to get your house sold. She was very helpful in saving me time and effort also. I thought I needed to paint, stage and do all sorts of things and in my situation, she said "no, let's see what happens". Sure enough, it sold without me having to do all of that. She really knows the senior market and if you are a baby boomer you have specific requests and needs and she knows (and is certified as a specialist) how to work with the aging population to deal with all of the issues around moving, not just finding a house. I would highly recommend.
Alison did a great job in identifying this home for us - and then working through the questions and details that led to our buying it. Her understanding and skills to focus on the unique needs for older adults relative to moving was a huge plus. The whole process was smooth and relatively stress. I would strongly recommend Alison to others.
Alison did an outstanding job of selling my dad's home after he went into a nursing home. She went to the nursing home and met my dad, help find someone who had a team that took care of cleaning out and selling the articles left in the house. She was easy to remain in contact with through out the project as I live in another state and travel a lot with job. I felt she was always accessible and had the answer for every question. She is very knowledgeable about the NWA real estate market and handled our transaction in a very professional manner. I would highly recommend her for any transaction you have.
Allison is an amazing realtor. She listens intently to her client’s needs. And then she works tirelessly to find homes that meets those needs and that are within Budget! I’ve worked with over 20 realtors over my home buying life and for sure, Allison is the very best! She has earned my trust and full respect.
Alison made the whole process so much easier than I thought it would be. She kept us informed and responded quickly to any requests. It was a pleasure to work with Alison.

“My current home will be the best possible place to live in my post-retirement years because I have more independence and freedom in my own home”
REALITY: A recent survey showed that 9 out of 10 seniors think the best option is to stay in their current home indefinitely. The reality is that, throughout your life, you have chosen different types of homes to meet your evolving lifestyle. Wouldn’t the best home for your next stage of life be one that provides more freedom, more convenience, better care and less worry? Residents in continuing care retirement communities are free to engage — or not engage — in activities and to come and go as they please. In many cases, there is more freedom because transportation is available and people are relieved of the burden of household maintenance.
“My current home is the best option to continue an active social life and to stay connected with friends in the years ahead.”
REALITY: Remaining in your home can result in growing isolation and loneliness in later life. In fact, identifying and building new relationships with like-minded people and maintaining social connections, tends to become increasingly difficult as you age. Studies show that having low social interaction is as bad for your health as smoking 15 cigarettes a day, excessive alcohol intake, obesity or never exercising. As you plan for the years ahead, the importance of social interactions cannot be underestimated. Keep in mind that those who remain in their homes often confront growing solitude as friends move away or pass on, family members relocate to different parts of the country or when they are widowed. It is not uncommon, in fact, for seniors to end up feeling trapped in their homes.
“It is less expensive and more financially secure for me to stay in my current home.”
REALITY: Paying off a home is a huge accomplishment, but when you consider the costs of property taxes, insurance, utilities, yard maintenance and unexpected repairs, the prospect of moving to a senior community begins to seem far more cost effective, while offering predictable costs and greater peace of mind.
“It will be easy to arrange for at-home care if and when I need it.”
REALITY: Care at home can be difficult to find, costly and unpredictable while Continuing Care Retirement Communities offer a seamless solution for unexpected care needs that can arise. Research has shown that people tend to underestimate— or be in denial of — the contingencies that can occur later in life. While close to 2/3 of Americans will need some type of long-term care after the age of 65, only 1/3 of those surveyed anticipate needing long-term care. Planning ahead ensures that you will be in a position to make your choices from among all available options.
“Retirement communities are filled with old people who are sick and dying.”
REALITY: It is important to consider that many of our opinions were formed years and years ago based on visits to a parent or grandparent in an old-style nursing home. Times have changed. For many, continuing care communities represent a new chapter in life with access to classes, outings, events, and other like-minded people.
